Katte Winter Raffle

The Katte Winter Raffle was our first venture and proved to be a significant success from both a learning and profitability perspective. The venture involved selling raffle tickets, each ticket offering school participants a chance to win prizes, and all members contributed across both strategic functions (marketing, brainstorming, and market research collection) and operational activities, including staffing the ticket-selling stand. In total, 250 tickets were sold, making over 3,000 SEK in profit. This was supported by the application of business techniques such as price reductions to clear remaining stock, bundle pricing, physical evidence marketing, diversified promotion channels, and market research-informed decision-making. Following the event, we conducted a financial evaluation using a profit and loss account and break-even analysis to assess performance. While the venture was commercially successful, we encountered human resource challenges, particularly unclear communication and an overly decentralised leadership structure, which created decision-making friction. However, these shortcomings generated valuable managerial reflections and learning outcomes that will inform the planning and leadership structure of future ventures.
